EMDR
This is a powerful tool I use to help clients reprocess traumatic memories that seem to have gotten stuck in the mind or body. Through bilateral stimulation (ie, the individual tracks sight, sound or touch across the midline of the body, alternating from the right and left sides), the client begins to assimilate dysfunctionally stored traumatic memories in a more adaptive fashion. It can bring relief to the body, mind and emotions. For those clients who need more support and a gradual approach to reworking difficult material, I offer techniques that can help build resiliency, mindfulness and confidence while assisting the mind and body to gently reprocess old traumas. Finally, EMDR can be used to augment other aspects of therapy, including attachment and relationship-based therapy. You can see my listing with EMDRIA here:  http://www.emdria.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=235

The Creative Process
Any of the creative processes can be healing and bring the individual closer to his or her "authentic" self while releasing or transforming internal conflicts housed in both the body and mind. While I have a masters degree in creative writing, I pull in other mediums of expression that work for the client.  This not only includes painting, drawing and traditional art forms, but sand play and related expressive therapies.
